music dump

So today I finished the last in my tasks for the new record. So here some info:

Here's a sample
Count me in, I'm good to go

It's for sale on emusic already. Go here to buy it and put it on your ipod before its even available. You can also sample all the songs there if you don't have a membership and just want to hear it.

If you are a press type person and have a music blog contact me for a review copy.

otherwise be my myspace friend
My First Days On Junk Myspace

So, its the end of the July and I am officially done all planned music projects. I realized haven't posted much about previous music projects I've finished. So here's some info for you:

One Happy Island

I recorded and mixed their EP called 'secret party that the other party doesn't know about' for Wee Pop. Besides being super nice people they also make some pretty sweet music.

Here's a sample song.
Temporary Tattoo

Its available on CD and 7". Go here to buy. Its a great listen.

Then I played bass, recorded drums and mixed the new Lets Whisper EP which is also on wee pop.

Here's a sample song.
Hey Sunshine

Its available on CD. Go here to buy. You wont be sorry. Danas songs are sweet as wild unprocessed non vegan honey.

I also played bass on the Colin Clary Solo record, which isn't out yet, and another Lets Whisper song that was on another Weepop comp that has sold out.

I think that's all I've completed... on top of, you know, playing shows and the like.

I hope you enjoy everything.

i like to sleep in the mornings

and that's when i need to get up.

push push
push

i made a damn obnoxious advertisement today and did some other productive things. plus i watched the military channel for far too long. they are having tank week soon. i think thats going to be the best week of my life.

i am down for doing things that don't involve furthering my 'career' or my 'fall back'. both of which i am currently 'pursuing' at the same time. some of these things are:

1. going to the ocean
2. going to thunder road
3. going to the fair (soon) (please have a demolition derby)
4. sitting at the waterfront reading
5. attending baseball games
6.
7.
8.
9.
10. you.

need to look harder
deeper
signals, calls, marches
tied together with a pretty
drab green bow
presents for eyes.

trout fishing in america

sat by the water and read for a while then went to a ball game thanks to AE... not farm share AE the other one.

decided i am going to name my accidental baby trout fishing in america. so which ever one of you ladies gets pregnant in november be prepared for the name choice. take some time. get used to it.

working on getting through all the books that people have lent me / have been recommended to me. I think i've only made it through 3 this summer. which is pretty slacking. but I've been though probably at least 7 poetry books. maybe more. so that probably counts for, what, 2 normal books?

the promo is going out for my record soon, its already up on emusic for sampling but i dont think you can buy it yet. I'm trying to decide what my next project should be. should i finish that book i started or finish that other record? who knows. maybe I will do both at the same time. what the fuck, right?

so, we're timid enough for something
whatever it is
but out going enough
to not worry about
the looks people give
when you act strangely weird
like the girls in bikinis stepping
into cold water off setting the hot sun
for the first time that day
shuffling, hopping their feet
and waving their arms
outstretched like they are off
balance, scrunching
their faces like ex girlfriends
until they get waste deep.

my friends call me manny.

walked a lot

been thinking about the next 2 months for several reasons and the past 2 years for several other reasons.

i have a story worked out and its ironic that i probably wont tell it or write it down...

i just realized that I forgot to eat dinner.

1. sometimes a complete respect for personal space is a sign of disinterest and not really respectful...
2. the world is always big even if your town is small.
3. accidental calling plan
4. revised list of hazards
5. all these emails. whats it about? nothing at all. shhhhhh dont answer. (i wont)
6. dirty
7. magic
8. pure heart purposefully drowning in helplessly bad decisions
9. "I had some help getting in my own way, didn't I?"
10. you

farm share

i sat on AEs (the other AE) porch and ate their farm shares food while a nice thunderstorm rolled in. a good light show to eat dinner to.

trying to go to bed early.
no matter how much i try to clean my plate things keep rolling in by the email.

im beginning to think there is no such thing as a clean plate in my world. im not sure if i am ok with that yet.

sinister smiles
i know that lick
burned into my forehead
in a wet soft mess
a dire browned leg
and hopeful arched back

i've been bad at hitting the rock shows lately
cause they hit back
and after a lot of years you get tender
i swear if some rock and roller
cannibalizes me
they will eat some delicious soft meat.

we are wednesday today, true to form
we are wet and muddy
we know everything is about something
and heat's in eyes in sighs in belted black
thighs with chucks at the bottom.

send me a signal that says 'you're an idiot, come here, idiot'

maybe poetry has left me forever.

we know what slow means,
you and i,
because we avoid it everyday.

it takes time to clean things out of your system.

i think if gaye symington wants me to vote for her she needs to hire an editor for the emails she sends out. i swear an 18 year old intern is writing those things. not impressive.

hello america, i love you.

the power supply to my laptop broke and i cant fix it because mac uses cheap strain reliefs and their connectors dont come apart. damn them. i have one hour left and probably 5 days before the new one comes in so sorry i am typing this fast without links.

1. some dude from GM was saying today after announcing the factory closings and restructuring that no one can just expect any big company to be able to adapt fast enough to keep up with the changes in the auto market these days. I dont have time to look for the exact quote... but it was something like that. i would like to submit this as proof that american large companies arent hiring forward thinking people to run their companies... toyota, honda and VW dont seem to be having any problems. maybe because they caught on to everything 10 years ago when all the warning flags went up and didn't have their govt bail them out so they could make / force SUV on people for years after they should have stopped selling them. you cant force people to buy what they dont want... and... oh yeah, since i dont like complaining without offering solution... Dear GM, remember when you made an electric car in the 90's and recalled them all /refused to sell them anymore? that was awesome. remember when, if you kept selling them, you would have been way ahead in the market right now and had an entirely different business? i remember that. so my solution, stop being stupid bull headed americans and try creating a product people want and need. one that fits in with the future of the US and works with the materials available to the customer. thanks.

2. the bra that generates power to charge your ipod as you run:
one sample article of many...
http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/features/bionic-bra-victorias-circuit-862875.html

this has been going around for a while. its completely stupid. i mean, i am all for finding a million ways to collect residual energy but... ummm. the only reason its getting so much press is because its about bouncing tits. really, lets think, when running, what else moves far more on both men and women that you could collect energy from? yes, thats right. arms and legs. 2 arms and 2 legs moving a lot with every step.

i will not start talking about stupid things in the press regularly. i promise. i just dont have time to turn my last 3 days into a poorly written cryptic 'poem' right now.

i only have 37 minutes left.

nite soldier... x5

you crawl into bed naked...

and hope to dream of all
the hopeless like you...

got wet three times today
the third was the best
it had music and puddles
and weirs

action movie weekend was wrapped up with wanted. it was kind of ok. i think i am going to have to move on to movies with more substance soon. or maybe, fuck that.

sometimes i am good
at dealing with the fun
some times it hides
its shame in my head.
when that happens
i cant fight a proud fight
i just hold my head in my hands.

all i can do is move to forget
move to the center of here
cause equidistant is furthest from my mind
while still staying far from you.

"i am going to make it through this year... if it kills me"

sun burn

i was going to write something about how its odd that we tell all the residents of our state we don't have to pay sales tax this weekend to get them to spend more money at the same time we beg for federal assistance to buy oil for the upcoming heating season... maybe it should be a no spend weekend so people will save for heating oil instead. do you need a tv or heat for the winter? of course it has something to do with the fact that this country does horrible economically when people have money in the bank, does ok when people live paycheck to paycheck and does awesome when its citizens have extreme debt.... but I am not going to write about my thoughts on that any further... no point.

i think i am a communist

breakfast with cc and jmr, got a sunburn reading in the park and wandering for hours. heard some old people who thought the pride event was mardis gras, saw hellboy 2 (not recommended). saw hancock last nite (recommended),

i forgot journey to the center of the earth took place in alaska. all the more reason to go there. i do like climbing on rocks, exploring and adventure.

there are two baby skunks wrastlin behind my house...

see you tomorrow.

why do you let me stay here?

tell me what you read

I'm getting ready to do promo for my new record which will include sending to blogs. so I'm compiling a list of music blogs I read... and i asked my friends what music blogs they read. turns out they all read different ones. so, you should share with me, in the comments, a list of music blogs you like. i will send stuff to them for my record and start reading them daily. if you own a music blog... what the fuck? why are you holding out?

also,

july 20th is the first gubernatorial debate. its at 5:30 at a farm in waitsfield. its open to the public and I am thinking of going. want to go with me? you will be attending with someone who hates politics and thinks they have all lost the spirit and talent to debate. I have no opinion of symington, or pollina and I think jimmie is a slow moving man of the repetitive and oddly informed nature. but if you are going to see a political debate having to do with the environment you might as well see it at a farm in waitsfield... right?

Our love is like the border between Greece and Albania

went to garage sales with ipw and tkbs
walked down town, saw get smart walked to the water front
watched some middle agers rock to the acoustic jams
stopped by skinny pancake to watch some people play outside
but I was thinking about stuff that tied into
what I was listening to on the ipod and all I heard was:
--
Our love is like the border between Greece and Albania
Our love is like the border between Greece and Albania
Trucks loaded down with weapons
Crossing over every night
Moon yellow and bright
There is a shortage in the blood supply
But there is no shortage of blood
The way I feel about you baby can't explain it
You got the best of my love.
--
and when the song was done and I actually heard
what the band that was in front of me was playing
i heard them mention something about jerry garcia
so i started walking again
the cush was playing at red square so I listened to them for a bit
and ran into dz and hc and talked to them for a few minutes
before heading home
and I kept playing mountain goats songs over and over
cause i couldnt get enough of:
--
I hope that our few remaining friends
Give up on trying to save us
I hope we come up with a failsafe plot
To piss off the dumb few that forgave us
I hope the fences we mended
Fall down beneath their own weight
And I hope we hang on past the last exit
I hope it's already too late
And I hope the junkyard a few blocks from here
Someday burns down.
--
it fit in well with the talk i was composing
in my head that ive thought about at least 3 times
before but never carried out
and never will
for several reasons...

its stupid hot and gross out.
the only way i see things
sweat out the devil
it beads on your chest
a symbol of benevolence

nite soldier.

I had the mystery solved a while ago

the answers
in trees
and vines climbing walls
brick walkwaysmoss
pavers, fountains
and, large wooden doors
... outside,
traffic
lots and lots of traffic
going for miles.

knowing answers
isn't solving problems
its just understanding

the pride and the sunshine
the drive and the long-wind

talk until you find home
in the broken down
suffering creaking wood
cramped hot middle
windowless room

as long as you find home
its ok.
